About the Artist
I am a textile artist living in the Scottish Borders,
the wonderful countryside around me influences and inspires my textile
work, which has been a major part of my life for the last 30 years.
My work has grown out of a passion for the countryside, linked with
a love of fabric, stitching, drawing, collage, painting, colour
and traditional patchwork quilts.
I have exhibited worldwide and my work has been purchased by the
major museums of the UK, including the Victoria and Albert Museum,
the Whitworth Art Gallery, The Glasgow Museums and the National
Museums of Scotland; it is also in major collections in the USA,
including the International Quilt Study Centre, and the Collection
of John M. Walsh III.
Quilts are my passion – my current work divides into three categories – Studio quilts are my very special studio pieces., wall hangings, ‘Quiltline’ pieces are my usable, practical and functional quilts, for use in home interiors and ‘stitch drawings’, these are small textile wall hangings.
All my quilts are unique, ‘one-off’ individual pieces.
